Full Stack Engineer
Founded in 2013, Scout has become one of the leading self-installed, wireless home security systems on the market. Our system is flexible and affordable with month-to-month contracts, portable devices, and best-in-class integrations. We are official partners of Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT. The Scout system integrates with a number of smart home enabled devices ranging from lights, locks, to thermostats. Customers fully install and control the system from their phone, with access to cellular backup and police dispatch services.
Scout is looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer who shares our love of innovation, technology, and passion for the IoT and Smart home space. Scout’s private label solution launched 24 months ago to make our end-to-end platform available to enterprise partners. Existing partners include international security providers, Fortune 500 companies, and regional service providers. This senior-level position within the organization will continue to grow and evolve our solution to support the needs of our users and partners. You will collaborate with key members of the engineering, product, and customer experience teams.
The goal of this position is to scale the offering of Scout’s core product and platform with the business needs of the private label program and partner organizations.
Responsibilities:
- Build high performance and scalable web services
- Create, test, and maintain code in a variety of languages including NodeJS and Ruby
- Collaborate with other team members on building new features and products
Key Qualifications, Skills, Competencies:
- Experience building and deploying web services (3-5 years or greater)
- Strong experience with web services Development (Ruby and Node)
- Experience with modern web frameworks like React
- Strong collaboration, prioritization, and adaptability skills required.
- Self-directed and comfortable supporting the needs of multiple teams, systems, and products.
- Passionate about writing clean, well organized, and production-ready code.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with distributed cloud architecture and infrastructure, preferably AWS (CloudFormation, EC2, ECS, DynamoDB, S3, AWS IoT).
- Experience with Docker containerization.
- Prior Startup experience
