What we’re looking for:

We are actively seeking engineers with a passion for building fast, scalable, fault-tolerant solutions that bridge our clients with our platform. You’ll work with project managers, solutions engineers and clients to translate business requirements into designs that embody the aforementioned robust solutions. Leveraging Elixir, Ruby/Rails, Postgres and more, you’ll be part of a nimble, cross-functional team that is excited by complex problems, creative problem solving and diversity of thought. Responsibilities:

• Deliver on complex, web‐based technology projects through all phases of the project lifecycle, from project definition through implementation
• Translate business requirements into a robust, scalable technical design
• Implement complex business requirements through a variety of tools and technologies
• Work closely with project managers to identify potential issues and risks
• Work closely and collaboratively with a small cross-functional team
• Coach and mentor our junior team members as they tackle even larger problems
• Instill a culture of out of the box thinking, exploration and problem solving within the team
• Help continue making CityBase an emerging leader in GovTech

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related professional experience
• Hands-on functional programming experience (Elixir and Phoenix preferred)
• Hands-on OOP programming experience (Ruby and Rails preferred)
• Strong SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL
• Experience with GraphQL
• Demonstrable knowledge of distributed systems, stream processing, and building business critical, highly scalable, fault-tolerant apps
• Demonstrable knowledge of data (SQL or similar query language) and data constructs (XML, JSON)
• Experience using Test Driven Development (TDD)
• Experience with Unix/Linux, AWS, CI/CD, Git/GitHub all a plus
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies such as functional, SOA and performance testing
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
