About the role: 

The Junior Security Engineer plays a key role in completing our mission every day by ensuring that Pampered chef deploys new infrastructure and technologies in a safe and secure manner. Reporting to the Director of Information Security, the Jr Security Engineer helps with deployment of world-class cyber security tools. This role also acts as an evangelist for cyber security throughout Information Technology, consulting with the applications development and infrastructure teams on secure systems and applications design.

What you will do: 

• Vulnerability Management & Penetration Testing – Configure, schedule, manage and review internal and external network and application vulnerability scans and penetration tests. 
• Secure Development – Build strong relationships and be deeply embedded within product management and software engineering team. Help drive the adoption of secure software development lifecycle practices across the areas of secure architecture and design, secure coding, security testing, and secure software release management.
• Incident & Cyber Threat Management – Monitor, respond, and help remediate potential threats generated by the IDS/IPS, SIEM, and other Security tools.
• Cloud Security - Assist in building a secure cloud environment and help drive the adoption of secure coding and deployment practices in AWS.
• Infrastructure Security - Work closely with the Infrastructure and Application Development teams to ensure proper configurations are implemented and tested on WAF, FW, IDS/IPS and platform.
• Patch Management and End-Point Protection – Assist in reviewing all patches and updates released for the operating systems used at The Pampered Chef. 
• Training & Awareness – Help drive the continued development and adoption of security awareness programs and the associated employee training. 

Skills you will need:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
• 1 to 3 years of experience working in technology in one or more of the following areas: software development, system administration, dev ops, or security.
• Comfortable working in a Windows and Linux environment.
• Experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, and JavaScript
