What You'll Bring

3+ years of software development and/or full-stack engineering experience

Ample experience operating with cloud environments and container platforms

Good understanding of micro-service principles and immutable architecture

Strong knowledge and application of secrets management, data encryption, key management, PKI and tokenization

Skilled at deploying and maintaining various cryptographic services and tools in the cloud and on-prem

Experience with successfully designing, deploying, maintaining and integrating HashiCorp Vault infrastructure 

Has contributed to data encryption policy and standards for their Information Security organization

Proficient with popular scripting and programming language frameworks such as python, java, golang, scala and ruby

Advocate of CI/CD best practices and robust experience working with technologies such as git, jenkins, drone, terraform, ansible and chef

Passionate about innovation and enjoys the challenges of creating something new 

Displays strong technical and thought leadership skills

Not only identifies potential problems, but is quick to present options to overcome or bypass those issues

Stays current with evolving technologies and can effectively communicate trends and opportunities

Continuously looks for opportunities to simplify and optimize technology and processes

Enjoys working in a collaborative environment and finds value and methods for up-skilling others

Serves as a coach and mentor for junior team members

Self-starter that demonstrates a solid understanding of the impact of own work

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Impact You'll Make

Crypto Engineering is a newly formed DevOps team at TransUnion that will focus on building first-of-its-kind security products and services for the enterprise. As a member of this innovative agile team, you will collaborate with others to develop and maintain capabilities required to secure data and applications operating in dynamic computing environments. You will construct and integrate security solutions with many popular vendor and open source technologies, internally developed applications and cloud native services. 

Engineers on this team will be challenged to provide technical and thought leadership in an effort to improve corporate culture and development practices, simplify processes and optimize platforms. To succeed in this role, you need to be courageous, eager to learn, able to work through ambiguity, communicate effectively, problem solve, and foster idea generation. 

Examples of the impact you will make:

Develop a global secrets management service that securely and dynamically manages secrets to eliminate sprawl, apply access controls and provide visibility to all actions and events

Implement a modernized PKI service to standardize the management of creating, storing, distributing, revocating and renewing digital certificates across the enterprise

Contribute to the technical direction of data encryption in all areas of policy, standards, strategy, architecture, solutions and governance

Improve critical security capabilities to simplify compliance and provide value-added security enhancements for enterprise IaaS, PaaS and SaaS
