Responsibilities 

  • Core Engineering of the Enterprise API Infrastructure.

  • Core Engineering of the API Gateway (Layer7 / MuleSoft / Datapower).

  • Core Engineering of the API Lifecycle Management toolset.

  • Creation of appropriate dashboard/monitoring and logging for API runtimes using AppDynamics and elastic search technologies.

  • Integration with ServiceNow as the system of record for API Change Management.

  • Integration with the CI/CD toolset to control environment propagation and automated API publish and API consumer onboarding.

  • Evangelize the Enterprise API Strategy and facilitate presentations to a wide audience of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Researches, boards, and evolves the most cost-effective software products and enterprise building blocks that improve the efficiency, availability, and performance of application servers, gateways, messaging, and related platforms.

  • The team currently owns and provides governance along with 24x7x 365 third-level supports for technologies, such as WebSphere AppServer, WebSphere MQ, CA Gateway, DataPower, Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, eXtreme Scale, and Google Search Appliance.

  • Works closely with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure Services, and Application Development teams in implementing solutions for the Middleware technologies.  

  • Hands-on industry experience in performance analysis, implementation, project leadership, maintenance, and technical documentation.  

  • Identifies and drives opportunities to improve automation for build, deployment, and configuration management. 

  • Works closely with Plan, Build, Run, and Cloud Infrastructure teams to support Critical, Core, and Support applications. 

  • Builds, delivers, and maintains middleware engineering platforms to support Agile development teams

 

Responsibilities also include:

  • Regular interaction with Product Manager, Product Owner and Product Architect for evolution, security enhancement and growth strategies.
  • Support, engineer and build activities for Portal, Gateway and API Lifecycle engineering teams and overall direct responsibility for health of the platforms.
  • Leads and executes on strategic technical objectives for security and evolution initiatives across API technology platforms.
  • Performs technical analysis, design, build and deployment of highly complex / scalable API Platform.
  • Infrastructure procurement facilitation and deployment through Cloud Engineering and Infrastructure teams.
  • Works with an offshore team to help execute L1 activities.
  • Performs API Platform engineer, build upgrades, patching, security vulnerability fixes.
  • Performs automation for repeated operations activities using tools like Github, Jenkins, Ansible, Nexus, Service Now, Bash, Python

 

Minimum Qualifications 

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 

  • 2+ years of experience in large enterprise systems, customer service, or related field 

  • In lieu of a degree, 4+ years of experience in large enterprise systems, customer service, or related field 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

If we had our say, we’d also look for: 

  • 5+ years of application development and implementation experience

  • 5+ years of Java experience

  • 5+ years of Middleware experience

  • 3+ years of Agile experience

  • 2+ years in Python

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skill

  • 3+ years of financial services experience

  • IBM, or related certification
