Manager, Process Engineering
Passionate about making a difference in the world of cancer genomics?
With the advent of genomic sequencing, we can finally decode and process our genetic makeup. We now have more data than ever before but providers don't have the infrastructure or expertise to make sense of this data. We're on a mission to connect an entire ecosystem to redefine how genomic data is used in clinical settings. We are looking for a Manager of Process Engineering who will be a part of a team responsible for the innovation, development, validation and implementation of new methodologies aimed at making our processes more robust and efficient.
What You’ll Do:
- Maintain accurate and thorough project documentation/record keeping.
- Provide management with updates on project status, key metrics, issues, and risks
- Investigate non-conformances through RCA and DMAIC, perform/recommend corrective and preventive actions
- Responsible for ensuring repeatability, reliability, and continuous quality improvement of laboratory processes
- Drive resolution for production assay performance issues and monitor effectiveness
- Ensure successful technology transfer via process engineering input through the design process for requirements and IQ/OQ/PQ testing
- Ensure engineering solutions meet requirements for safety, cost, time, quality and throughput expectations
- Ensure all projects include risk analysis and contingency planning details to maintain service in the event of planned/unplanned interruptions or delays
- Actively seek and evaluate vendor qualifications through collaborations on project opportunities
- Perform experimentation to test and validate new methodologies
- Communicate clearly with laboratory staff and become familiar with protocols in order to fully understand the needs of the procedures
- Identify areas that are error-prone and research innovative approaches for practical prevention
- Organize efforts well in a team and clearly address the problems, needs, outcomes, and deadlines of ongoing projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline, Master’s is a plus
- Knowledge and experience in building a process engineering team (or equivalent e.g. manufacturing engineering) within a scaling operations environment is a must, within a clinical laboratory setting is a plus
- Highly organized and systematic, superb attention to detail and ability to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy
