Manager of Software Quality Assurance Engineering I
This position supports the Product and Technology Department by converting
requirements into test cases and help to define user case scenarios based on product and domain knowledge. This individual follows software quality best practices, test strategy and planning, test case development, deployment and execution, test data creation and maintenance, defect tracking, and test automation, with focus on people management.
Responsibilities - Manager of Software Quality Assurance Engineering I

  • Coach and mentor team members to develop skills and enable them to remove impediments
  • Develop and manage training strategy and plans to improve team's ability to deliver
  • Establish team metrics for measurement of quality and operational excellence and a consistent, regular process for assessment and improvements.
  • Lead the effort to incorporate performance, load and stress testing into overall quality assurance process
  • Partner with leaders of other departments to understand and resolve urgent customer requests and longer-term strategic needs.
  • Work with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, and Development team leaders to ensure that QA deliverables are being met and status is being communicated effectively.
  • Work with Development team leaders and Dev leads to ensure quality is being built into software deliverables.
  • Maintain focus on quality across several concurrent projects with multiple delivery teams
  • Work in an agile development environment, collaborating with the team to deliver quality software iteratively
  • Establish and track metrics related to key performance objectives and service levels
  • Manage and drive continuous improvement, daily releases and test automation efforts
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
  • Suggest feature or functionality changes or enhancements to product management based on client feedback
  • Fosters a positive team environment
  • Ensures confidentiality of internal and external data
  • Performs ad-hoc projects and other duties as assigned

Role Specific Skills - Manager of Software Quality Assurance Engineering I

  • Working knowledge and experience using Agile with Scrum methodology.
  • Knowledge of established QA practices and the software development life cycle.
  • Ability to research and resolve issues independently
  • Detail oriented.
  • Experienced with of MySQL and MongoDB.
  • Experienced with bug tracking software (specifically JIRA).
  • Browser Automation Tools such as Selenium and REST API testing.


People Management Skills - Manager of Software Quality Assurance Engineering I

  • Proficient in all people management processes, including recruitment, performance management and reward
  • Proficient in building, growing and developing a team; including department structure design and resourcing
  • Proficient in coaching and developing individual team members to reach their potential

Qualifications - Manager of Software Quality Assurance Engineering I
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of direct work experience in Quality Assurance and at least 1 years in a Quality Management role
