Nutrition Scientist: The transfer of scientifically-based information between academia, agricultural commodity groups, and our internal and external audiences is key to accelerate innovation for products developed & outward transparency as part of the RXBAR brand promise— Real. The Nutrition Scientist will continue elevating the science that makes up our products via direct, truthful, & simple communication to drive curiosity, innovation, education and consumer trust. They will need to have a deep understanding of nutrition science and develop strong, collaborative partnerships across our business units. This person must be organized, a strong communicator, want to be part of an exciting, fast-paced, innovative company, and hungry to grow a new brand.

General Functions + Job Responsibilities:

  • Subject matter expert on key core ingredient categories
  • Mine scientific research about our current and future ingredients from a nutritional, functional, food safety, sustainability perspective
  • Conduct literature-based research and identify relevant studies to examine totality of all evidence available
  • Translate research results for transparent and truthful communication with both internal and external audiences
  • Develop and conduct internal nutrition/ingredient training
  • Serve on cross-functional project teams to deliver timely results

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Positive attitude, a thirst for knowledge, and an excitement for growing our business
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition, Food Science, or related biological sciences required; Masters (MS) degree preferred
  • At least 1 to 2 years of nutrition research and communication experience
  • Nutrition training or certification; R.D. preferred
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills, ability to continually integrate new learning with existing knowledge and communicate to a variety of audiences (scientific peers, consumers, business colleagues, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of consumer health and wellness concerns, nutrition and ingredients
  • Must have multi-task project management skills and technical agility, with the ability to prioritize and coordinate projects with a great degree of flexibility
  • Strong involvement in Nutrition related professional associations a plus
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills, who is extremely result and detail-oriented
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, effectively manage workload to meet deadlines, while ensuring a high standard of quality
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team player
