Duck Creek is looking for a versatile individual who can be both customer focused and highly technical at the same time. We require a candidate that can look at a large data set, summarize it to its key components, and act on the outcome to change a given paradigm.
The individual will be highly motivated, have a background in IT, development, and/or performance engineering. This position will help drive our On Demand customers to success on the performance frontier by:
- Compiling information from multiple data sets, sometimes developing reporting solutions where they do not currently exist
- Quickly identifying performance issues within a complex system which includes but is not limited to
- Networking (LAN/WAN)
- Virtual machines
- Multiple applications
- SQL Servers
- I/O systems
- 3rd party interfaces
- Active Directory
- DNS
- Working with multiple owners of the system to address root causes
- Using tools like: DynaTrace, Visual Studio, SQL Management Studio, Wireshark, and Fiddler
- The successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of working across team and corporate boundaries to solve problems and develop innovative solutions.”
Responsibilities:
- Creates performance test models for release testing (plans, data and scripts) including the identification, collection and/or creation of test data
- Applies both business and functional knowledge, develops end to end performance testing strategies, using performance processes and methodologies and coach others across skill group
- Mentors other performance testers on performance testing processes, application knowledge, and technical details of products
- Coaches others to create high quality performance test plans and high-level scenarios from non-functional requirements
- Coaches other team members and developers on performance test architecture, performance test coverage and how to create high quality performance tests
- Assists with planning, creation, control, and maintenance of the performance test environments
- Tests release installation procedures in distributed environments and escalate defects as necessary
- Participates in and lead Delivery Retrospectives as appropriate
- Troubleshoots performance defects and attempt to remedy at the system level. Investigate the code level.
- Contributes to tactical problem solving, utilizing input from delivery team and skills leads
- May mentor/train other members of engineering or services. If acting as a mentor/trainer, assure that communication is clear and concise for mentee/trainee
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, or higher education level, or its foreign equivalent, in Engineering, Computer Science or related degree
Performance QA Skill Domain Experience: Minimum 8 Years
Product/Industry Experience: Minimum 6 Years
Leadership Experience: Minimum 1 Year
- Software Development expertise and/or technical background
- Continue to further develop core performance test engineer skills, P&C industry acumen, functional knowledge, and technical details for one or more Duck Creek product and grow the knowledge and skills of others
- Property and Casualty Insurance Proficiency
