We are seeking a QA Engineer to help us increase the delivery speed and quality of the product through both Test Automation and Manual Testing. Currently, we have product managers doing our acceptance testing, and they are great, but we strive for better :). A good candidate will be able to plan and implement test strategies at a high level, and be ready to jump into the details of test execution. They will also have the ability to create test standards, collaborate directly with our engineers, and up their test automation game. 

How you will make an impact:

  • Participating in product requirement and design reviews with product managers and other engineers
  • Developing Test Plans and Test Cases for the functional areas to be tested
  • Adding to our ever-growing test automation suite
  • Providing feedback for improving the development processes
  • Analyzing complex software systems and collaborating with others to improve the overall design
     

What you bring:

  • 1+ Years Manual Testing Experience
  • An eye for detail and the ability to hold others to a high bar
  • An understanding of basic software testing heuristics
  • Selenium Exposure, with the ability to learn more (we use Capybara)
  • Nice to Have: Programming experience, specifically in Object Oriented languages like Ruby or Python
  • Nice to Have: Experience working in an Agile Development environment and with CI/CD systems

Engineering Process:

We get our work assignments through two week sprints which include kickoff, grooming (estimation), retrospective and daily standups.  We deploy multiple times a day and have a pretty well tooled local development setup.

Location

Located in The Loop, our Chicago headquarters is a quick walk to public transportation options such as the CTA and Metra. We're close to Millennium Park as well as a variety of trendy restaurants and shopping venues. Our team is mostly remote, but our office is open to local and visiting employees!
