Department OverviewThis is an opportunity for you to use user cybersecurity skills to protect the people that protect us. Our customers are first responders. Fire, police, and paramedics; 911 call takers and 911 dispatchers. And when we or our loved ones place that 911 call, we become the customer of our customers. We want that call to be answered, and we want the communications between the dispatcher and the first responder to be available. But what if that 911 call center, or the communications link to the responders in the field, were under attack? What if you or your loved ones' call to 911 went unanswered, or they were unable to dispatch paramedics to your location, because they had been taken down by ransomware? This is not just theoretical; it is happening. First responders and 911 call centers are under attack around the globe, and this is a chance to fight back.
Job Description

The security architecture team within Motorola Solutions is responsible for driving the cybersecurity technology strategy, performing technology evaluations of third-party solutions, and developing security standards and best practices. Members of this team are a different breed of architect; ones capable of both designing the blueprint, and then rolling up their sleeves to implement rapid prototyping by building proof of concept references.

As a member of this team, you will always be working on something new. One day you may find yourself building out cloud infrastructure to automate the deployment of security as code, after which you may move on to evaluating threat intelligence and EDR platforms, followed by designing resilient solutions to ransomware and supply chain attacks. The ideal candidate will bring strong professional experiences in one or more of the following areas:

• Cyber Defense - experience in security operations (SOC, SIEM, SOAR, threat hunting) and security engineering (NGFW, EDR), as well as operationalizing threat intelligence

• Cyber Offense - experience in pen testing, intimacy with ATT&CK, atomic, metasploit, etc

• Cloud - experience building in Azure or AWS, including a solid understanding of infrastructure as code, configuration as code, distributed / immutable / ephemeral design patterns, and observability

• Software - experience and proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Java, Node.js, Go, Python, etc)

We will make the necessary investments in you and your career, and ensure that you have the time and space to learn and grow. This will include formal training, security certifications, on the job learning, and sending you to cybersecurity conferences where you will network and learn from your peers.
