What you will do:
Lead process improvement engagements across the enterprise. Through analysis of the internal workflows and tools used at OCC, identify opportunities for improvement and provide recommendations to leadership; once recommendations are prioritized, ensure successful implementation of priority recommendations. The ability to build and maintain working relationships with both business and technology teams will be critical to success, as will an internal consulting /influence mindset. This position requires a passion for continuous improvement and tenacity for rejecting status quo in favor of finding ways to make things better.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.
- Lead or support reviews of current state practices; working with employees at every level of the organization to gather information necessary to understand and define opportunity areas
- Develop modeling using business process management techniques (E.g., BPMN, RACI, SIPOC, Value Stream Mapping, etc.)
- Engage with various teams at OCC to lead or support improvements that address significant challenges
- Identify and record process pain points, quality issues, inefficiencies, non-value add activities, and performance gaps
- Support the design of process performance management tools and metrics
- Lead root cause analysis efforts for identified issues; document and present recommended solutions
- Partner with process owners and their SMEs to initiate and complete process improvement projects based on recommended solutions
- Ensure process artifacts provide value throughout the organization
- Develop and contribute to the design and implementation of organization-wide process-centric methodologies (e.g., lean, six sigma, kaizen, goal alignment, etc.)
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role will not have direct reports but will own a portfolio of work and supervise the progress and quality of the work of others towards those outcomes.

- Demonstrated experience with process improvement engagements delivering significant change within an organization
- Familiarity with and/or training in Lean transformation, Lean/Six Sigma, or Business Process Management concepts
- Demonstrated ability to dig beyond the surface to uncover root causes and offer solutions that could deliver effective and efficient outcomes
- Experience operating in a collaborative environment to solve cross-functional problems
- Ability to communicate complex concepts in simple-to-understand terms
- Experience creating process improvement artifacts (e.g., flow charts, value chains, and other diagrams) to communicate process and process change
- Willingness to challenge “status quo” mentalities
- Ability to direct complex projects with limited direct oversight and exercise independent judgment
- Passionate to solve difficult problems
- Ability to prioritize critical versus non-critical issues and communicate effectively to management
- Experience in setting and managing expectations, while at times challenging senior leadership to re-think positions based upon relevant data/concepts
Technical Skills:
Microsoft Office Suite
Education and/or Experience:
- Experience with process improvement /reengineering efforts (3-5 years); and/or,
- Experience in project planning and reporting results (3-5 years); and/or,
- Experience in consultative role (3-5 years)
Certificates or Licenses:
Process improvement certifications such as Lean/Six Sigma yellow belt (or above) preferred, but not required
IT service or process management certifications such as ITIL or ITAM preferred, but not required
