As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer, you will build secure software that operates the modern and scalable infrastructure at VillageMD. You’ll design and implement secure systems and software that deals with federally protected health information, systems which much be continuously available for our patients, clinical operators and doctors.

What are examples of work that DevSecOps Engineers will do at VillageMD?

  • Architect, design, and build innovative solutions that integrate security into application development, continuous delivery pipelines, and production facing systems
  • Integrate security solutions for Infrastructure as Code, Policy as Code, Vulnerability Detection, Third Party Component and License analysis
  • Identify and exploit efficiencies in operational engineering through automation
  • Develop near real time KPI reporting systems for security controls, and pipeline components
  • Implement security controls that support compliance with ISO 27001 security requirements
  • Practice sustainable incident response, root cause analysis and blameless postmortems

What you might do in your first year:

  • Manage the business result of healthcare technology products
  • Integrate security solutions for Container Security, Open Source Software, Code Analysis, Infrastructure as Code, and Policy as Code
  • Lead the effort to implement strong security controls in AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes.

The following experience is relevant to us:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, math or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years experience designing and coding in Go, Java, Python, or similar language for production commercial services that operate on public internet
  • Comfortable understanding of Linux fundamentals and network protocols such as TCP, HTTP, DNS and TLS
  • Experience using AWS (API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, WAF, CloudFront, EKS, EC2, ECS, EFS, RDS, VPC) or similar solutions to build infrastructure
  • Experience with configuration management tools – Ansible and/or Terraform preferred
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
  • Experience running mission-critical, 24/7 systems
  • Experience with incident response and root-cause analysis
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to communicate with technical and business teams
