We’re looking for a senior front-end software engineer who is focused on building high-quality experiences in the browser which are as performant as they are delightful for our customers. You will be helping to build sustainable, cloud-native solutions that can easily evolve and continue to scale to meet the needs of the business around content creation, management, and delivery. We need a leader in front-end engineering who has experience leading projects where you will be working with APIs as well as building and testing scalable applications using JavaScript, CSS, and Angular.js. Given that our technology stack also includes Ember.js and React, an ideal candidate is someone who is framework agnostic or at-least open to working with different tools.

Above all, we value iteration, customer focus, and humility. We believe front-end development is closely related to design, helping bring life to the product from a visual and interaction layer, and ultimately helping people solve their problems while bringing delight to their everyday lives. We also believe a well executed development process touches every part of the product, from accessibility to conversion, and everywhere in-between. If you believe the same, we should chat!

What your day could consist of:

  • Building beautiful, impactful, and purposeful user experiences, around email creation, without sacrificing quality or performance
  • Leading modern front-end technical design and implementation on projects involving a cross-functional team of design, engineering, and product
  • Proposing strategies to take existing front-end applications built in older paradigms and reimplement them using current best practices Designing and developing libraries and frameworks that power our front-ends
  • Leveraging data to inform decisions and defining metrics to measure the success of new features
  • Helping the team define the front-end engineering standards for our organization
  • Contributing to code and design reviews, root cause analysis, and defect resolution
  • Participating in planning and stand-ups, mentoring juniors, and supporting peers

What is needed:

  • 7+/- years of experience in front-end frameworks like Angular, Ember, React, and other modern frameworks used to build scalable web applications with JavaScript and TypeScript
  • Mastery of HTML and CSS, and experience building and styling reusable components (experience generating email-optimized markup is a plus)
  • Proficiency in both modern MVC/MVVM and older AMD/Mustache/jQuery environments, and experience with modernizing existing code to use current best practices in front-end engineering
  • Proficient in writing unit and end-to-end tests with an emphasis on coverage and maintainability
  • Proficient in managing dependencies with a framework like npm or yarn
  • Team or project leadership experience
  • Familiarity with front-end ops using AWS (S3, CloudFront, etc) and/or CI/CD
  • Understanding of secure CRUD API development and integration
  • Strong UX and Design sensibilities to build accessible and responsive products
  • Experience leading, building, and debugging complex systems with an ability to work closely with design teams to turn their visions into reality
  • Relentless focus on our customer’s experience and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Passion for mentoring and educating other engineers through pairing and code reviews
  • Flexibility with changing scopes and priorities; we believe in iteration and work in a fast-paced industry
