Senior Manager, Solution Engineer

The Solution Engineer Senior Manager provides technical product support during the sales cycle with specific focus on the Duck Creek OnDemand SaaS solution. This role works closely with the Sales and other Solution Engineering and Consulting staff to promote Duck Creek product offerings. The Senior Manager will be a technical subject matter expert able to work directly with sales prospects to present the technical capabilities of the products, addressing technical architecture, integration approaches, security, database, configuration, hardware/software requirements, and project scoping.   He/she will conduct presentations, technical demonstrations, and Proof of Concept projects for the product offering, and will work with the Solution Consulting team on proposal development. The position will also work closely with the Product Management team to understand the product strategy/roadmap and to communicate requirements and trends encountered among our prospects.

 

Responsibilities

  • Become a subject matter expert on the technical aspects of Duck Creek offerings and their delivery through the Duck Creek OnDemand solutions.
  • Standard Functional / Technical Demo Support & Triage (Configuration)
  • Utilize your strong understanding of cloud technology (especially MS Azure) with a broad understanding of infrastructure and cloud technologies to support our OnDemand offering
  • Act as the subject matter expert on our Duck Creek platform, execute with a cloud first mind set helping prospects and customers realize benefits of the Duck Creek cloud-based architecture and SaaS services.
  • Custom Functional / Technical Demo Support & Triage (Configuration, Extension, Integration)
  • POC Functional / Technical Demo Support & Triage (Configuration, Extension, Integration)
  • Support RFX proposal process by ensuring quality technical responses
  • Develop skills to provide technical demonstrations of solutions
  • Work directly with prospects to present via presentation, white board discussion and demonstration, how our solutions can meet the specific needs of the carrier.
  • Ability to translate Duck Creek capabilities into benefits/values to meet the prospect’s unique business needs.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team member

    Good organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar program or an additional 4 years work experience.
  • Minimum of 12 years’ experience as technology architect, sale engineer, or developer in software development team or software/content implementation team
  • Familiarization with SQL Management Studio
  • Experience utilizing Visual Studio
  • Working with VMs in the Cloud (Azure preferred)
  • Automated Testing tools experience
  • Ability to navigate IIS, Event Viewer to resolve issues
  • Capability to collaborate using SharePoint, MS Office/Outlook
  • Understanding XML hierarchy
  • 2 years in customer-facing role and/or experience
  • Clear stage presence and polished presentation skills.

 

 

Preferred Qualification and Skills:

  • Experience in building, positioning the SaaS value proposition at a platform/product vendor
  • Experience with ROI, TCO and cost estimate calculator
  • 5 years’ experience in Insurance Technology

 

Travel expectation: 

  • 25-50% travel (travel typically involves 1-2 days at prospect site).
