Summary
Looking for a Product Engineer to assist with our product development initiatives, as well as help drive new groundbreaking applications designed for Hyatt hotel associates and guests. This position is ideal for someone who is skilled and passionate about front-end and/or back-end development, who is eager to fill in the gaps in their toolbox. The team is responsible for architecture, methodology, tools and processes, and delivery management for the development and support of colleague facing applications, and new apps created in an internal startup environment. As a member of this team, Product Engineers provide input as we partner with all business functions to help build a digital culture at Hyatt. Our team works closely with Product Development to plan and negotiate iterative development cycles in an agile environment. They also collaborate with the Operations team to build infrastructure and care for Hyatt.com and associated properties in production, as Tier 3 support. They apply DevOps tools and culture to deliver software to production early and often, with highly automated and reliable procedures. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:• Analyze requirements.• Develop front-end software.• Develop back-end software.• Develop automated tests.• Develop automated deployment process.• Provide Tier 3 production support.• Participate in architecture reviews and technology standards definition.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:• 8+ years of experience in a full-time development role.• Experience in software engineering, architecture, and technical operations.
PREFERRED SKILLS:• Strong Agile experience• Proficient in Java and SpringBoot
EDUCATION:
B.S. preferred, in Computer Science or related discipline.
Qualifications
Position Responsibilities / Essential Functions• Develop new features for Envision and Envision Integrations• Design and Build Solutions using Java, Javascript, SpringBoot, and VueJS• Communicate with the Business teams on requirement gathering, prototyping and engage in brainstorming the UI and UX features for the requirement• Perform the code review of critical modules and resolve and investigate emergency production issues and setup performance benchmark for new applications and continuously monitoring it after release• Communicate and coordinate with project leads to understand project requirements, review resource plans, and define the scope of work• Provide production technical support with service-now/splunk/ssh for Envision applications and provide continuous integrations using Jira, Jekins, Stash docker, kubernetes• Analyze requirements to determine approach/proposed solution• Develop proof of concepts for new technologies and conduct acceptance analysis• Identify and resolve performance issues in the newly built systems and applications• Build, setup, and administer JBoss/SpringBoot/apache servers that are utilized for all applications• Demonstrate a commitment to Hyatt core values• The position responsibilities outlined above are in no way to be construed as all encompassing. Experience• 8 years of experience in software engineering with minimum 2 years leading smaller projects with 2-5 people• 8 years of experience in Java and Java frameworks• 8 years of experience in Javascript and Javascript frameworks• 8 years of experience in requirements analysis and system design• Experience in hospitality or travel industry will be preferred
Education• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM field• Preferred - master's degree in computer science or STE
