The Senior Quality & Food Safety Tech leads the site Quality and food safety resources to assure the on-going production of high quality and safe food products that comply with product design and meet or exceed customer and consumer expectations. 

 

What you'll be responsible for as the Senior Quality and Food Safety Tech...

 

Food Safety

  • Daily review and sign off all CCPs

  • Maintain hold and release programs and daily release finished product after meeting company QFS standards

  • Perform daily GMP audit, Allergen changeover, WIP inspection and finished product inspection

  • Implement annual allergen validation and verification its’ effectiveness at daily basis

  • Document non-conformance & food safety hold and review with Director of Operation

  • Maintain HACCP plans to current menu and conduct annual HACCP validation to ensure its compliant with City & State regulation`s

  • Implement QFS corporate policies to facility according to SQF L2 requirement

  • Support 3rd party/regulatory audits

  • Owner of QFS scorecard at facility level

  • Maintain and update environmental monitoring programs (pathogen and indicator swabs, air and water monitoring)

  • Assist Recall program/traceability programs

Quality

  • Manage internal audit program

  • Conduct finished product testing/Zone 1 for both pathogens and indicators as needed

  • Support new product launch

  • Support customer compliant investigations

  • Sanitation

  • Monitor/verify day and night sanitation technician to ensure all sanitation is complete and properly meets quality standards

  • Chemical control

  • Oversee pest control program

Facilities Trainer

  • Manage 2 direct reports: day shift sanitation technician & QFS technician

  • Train employees on new and existing food safety & quality SOPs

  • Create training materials as needed

  • Document training of employees

  • Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to assist team to solve operational issues

  • Demonstrating and promoting a strong quality & food safety culture in actions, words and spirit within organization

 

What we're looking for in a Senior Quality and Food Safety Tech

  • Bachelor Degree in food science/food safety relevant field

  • 2+ years Quality & Food Safety related knowledge in cGMPs, SOPs, HACCP etc.

  • 2+ years lab experience in,Micro plating, ATP swabbing & pathogen swabbing, PH meter calibration, Chemical titration testing

  • Fully educated and aware of food safety regulations (Dairy, Juice, Seafood HACCP & FSMA etc.)

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical area such as R&D, product development, quality management systems, or food process engineering 

  • SQF practitioner, PCQI and HACCP certified

  • Excellent verbal, and written communication skills

  • Service oriented

  • Strong organized and administrative skills
