Job Description

Looking for an experienced Security Engineer – Senior with at least 5+ years of hands-on experience in performing and/or participating in FISMA and NIST security assessments, security scanning/analyzing, FedRAMP 3PAO testing, continuous monitoring / security operations, and authorization activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Correspond vulnerability scans and facilitating remediation of findings with different POCs
• Ensure baseline configuration requirements are met on system components
• Manage audit correlation collection/review for component applications.
• Lead initiative to work with system owners to prioritize and close Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms)
• Participate and manage continuous monitoring / security operation activities
• Develop and assess cyber security documentation for client information systems in accordance with FISMA, NIST RMF, and departmental requirements
• Participate in and lead compliance related discussions (this includes in-depth understanding of security control requirements)
• Work with customers to resolve concerns and explain how compliance is achieved
• Attend and participate in regular project meetings; deliver succinct and accurate status updates
• Develop and/or provide support to business development and RFP responses

• Executes security scanning and the analysis of the scan results.
• Assesses and mitigates system security threats and risks throughout the program life cycle.
• Conduct vulnerability and compliance assessments on systems and ensure vulnerability ​ 

​Skills Required

• 5-10 years of experience in performing and/or participating in FISMA and NIST security assessments, continuous monitoring, and authorization activities
• Experience with one or more of the following tools are preferred: Security Center, Nessus Log Correlation Engine, CIS Benchmarks, WebInspect Vulnerability Scans or SolarWinds LEM
• Expert-level knowledge of FISMA, NIST RMF, and NIST SP 800-series publications
• Exposure to Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and related terminology as it relates to Information Security/Information Assurance
• Self-motivated and able to work in an independent manner or as part of a team
• Able to write and talk about technical security issues in a clear, concise manner
• Exceptional organizational and planning skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment​
