About the Role

NextME is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Full Stack Developer to develop our core web application and provide sound technical leadership as our company grows.

You must be excited to work with a small dedicated team with no ego and a mutual love of building great products. You must carry leadership experience and provide technical direction to attain the company’s strategic goals established in the company’s road map. You enjoy being a generalist, with a willingness to work on both frontend and backend.

Required Technical Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of Full Stack development experience with server side languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, PHP and .Net.

  • Proficiency with fundamental front end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular JS, React and Amber.

  • Experience with version control, task runners, and dependencies tools like gulp, node, composer, and git

  • General experience working with project management systems like Trello, Jira, or Asana

  • Experience in programming and interacting with APIs

  • Solid background in utilizing 3rd party integrations and application libraries with strict security requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of Web Standards and RESTful APIs

  • Solid Understanding of NoSQL databases and Serverless computing

  • Effective writing, communication and presentation skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Bonus Skills & Attributes

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related area

  • General experience with DevOps

  • Knowledge of common design patterns and an attention to detail

  • General experience with Laravel or UserFrosting

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of NextME’s technology and UX/UI design standards

  • Assist in establishing the company’s technical and strategic vision to help with all aspects of the company’s technological development

  • Works in a consultative fashion with other department heads, such as marketing, production and operations as an advisor of technologies that may improve their efficiency and effectiveness

  • Ability to communicate effectively with the leadership team internally, as well as apply a consultative approach externally with clients and/or strategic partners

  • Conduct research and case studies on leading edge technologies and makes determinations/estimates of probabilities of implementation

  • Provide leadership in a fashion that supports the company’s culture, mission and values
