Senior Software Engineer (Full time, Remote)

SpotOn is a fast-growing marketing, loyalty, and payments platform that helps small business owners understand and reach out to their customers and increase revenues by making informed decisions. Customers can discover businesses using our mobile apps, then at order time can check-in and pay for their orders using our mobile and tablet applications. The resulting data allows merchants to send targeted marketing campaigns, track their online reputation, and monitor the growth effect loyal customers can have on revenues, through our flagship web application.

As a Senior Software Engineer at SpotOn Enterprise, you will be responsible for contributing towards the architecture, feature development, quality, and delivery of your team's client-facing products. You will mentor, drive, and execute with your team to produce innovative technical solutions that lead to scalable, performant, and secure applications. This will include parsing product requirements to create architectural designs and specifications, instituting and enforcing clean code standards, evangelizing code quality best practices via various testing methodologies, and driving repeatable and consistent systems for code deployment.

Technical Aptitude

• Build and ship clean, performant, scalable, secure, quality software that exceeds customer expectations
• Strong understanding of PHP and experience with frontend technologies such as Javascript, React.JS, jQuery, HTML, CSS
• Understanding and practicing SOLID and clean code principles
• Experience with building APIs and RESTful web services
• Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture, event-driven programming, streaming, and/or queuing systems
• Strong knowledge of MySQL and NoSQL, such as MongoDB and AWS DynamoDB
• Knowledge of GoLang or willingness to learn GoLang is a big plus
• Large development team experience demonstrated by broad knowledge in version control, branching, and project management strategies
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and excellent listening skills
