About The Team

Systems Manager team is responsible for building and maintaining Meraki's endpoint management solution. We manage millions of devices on all major operating systems to help with security and workflow for end users. Our product manages millions of devices over a wide range of operating systems and quality is the highest priority. We are looking for a test automation engineer who is as passionate about quality as we are. Your contributions will make direct impact to the success of our business.

The Opportunity: 

As a Senior Test Software Engineer - Systems Manager, you will be the start of a newly forming testing team. Your initial responsibilities will be very hands-on: helping build out new frameworks, testbeds, and tests, as well as testing evangelism within the team. There are clear growth opportunities as we plan on building out a testing team; supporting 5 platforms isn't a one-person job and there will be plenty of chances for both technical and leadership growth.

Potential Projects Include:

• Build a testing framework and tests from ground up for the platform
• Integrate end to end tests into the build pipelines and develop metrics such as test pass rates / importance etc.
• Build dashboards for monitoring and alerts around test failures
• Administer and scale the testing infrastructure (TeamCity)
• Consult on building test plans for our initiatives
• Develop and evangelize good testing practices in the team 
• Mentor and train other engineers on how to write quality tests and improve existing ones

You are an ideal candidate if you:

• Have 3+ years of strong programming experience preferable with dynamic languages like Ruby and Python 
• 5+ years of experience in Test Development and/or Test Automation roles
• You have hands on experience building and maintaining tests suites, preferably with Open Source frameworks such as Selenium, Appium etc.
• Are opinionated on testing frameworks and can back them up with words and code
• Proven to be a great technical communicator
• You have extended testing frameworks or written one from scratch
• You are an enthusiastic advocate for testing best practices
• You enjoy on-boarding new team members, mentoring, and teaching others
• You use data and metrics to inform decisions
• Are able to weigh technical trade-offs against business goals
• Hold deep technical curiosity
• You are an enthusiastic advocate for testing best practices
  

Bonus points for:

• Experience with CI systems
• Experience with docker and/or other container technologies
• Experience with Rails
• Experience with Postgres or other RDBMS
