What you will be doing – Senior Vice President, Technology

As the Senior Vice President, Technology of Elevate K-12, you will be leading the function and the development of our engineering and technology for building the next generation of live streaming technology. Reporting to the company CEO and collaborating with other business functions you will be leading and building a global team between our offices in Chicago, US and Mumbai, India. With our new growth targets the tech function needs to be re-engineered to get it ready for our next upcoming years of hockey stick growth. You will lead, build and manage a team that designs and builds engaging live experiences, creates scalable and sustainable tech that assists with automation and digitization of our processes, balances feature delivery and delivers live streaming technology for our schools and teachers around the US.

As a functional leader on our executive team, you will have an opportunity to guide and impact the long term tech roadmap and strategy of the company while building and scaling the tech function so that Elevate K-12 can provide more final mile high quality teaching to students in zip codes that don’t have access to a high quality teacher.

Responsibilities – Senior Vice President, Technology

  • Leads Development, Infrastructure, Quality Assurance & Security for Elevate K-12
  • Establishes enterprise architecture and technology strategy to achieve strategic objectives 
  • Collaborates with senior management to make strategic choices on technologies to increase Elevate K-12’s growth plan and market position
  • Sets objectives and strategies for the global technology department as it relates to scale
  • Establishes multi-year strategic technology roadmap for Elevate K-12 
  • Directs, administers and supervises planning, organization and coordination of information systems 
  • Ensures adherence to information technology standards
  • Promotes and encourages the development of innovative technology
  • Develops and recommends short and long-term plans, policies and procedures covering all areas of Information Technologies Services in the Company 
  • Identifies new technology innovations, stays engaged with the education and edtech industry 
  • Drives new technology initiatives and products
  • Creates, manages and improves technology standards policies and procedures to support business growth and technology solutions
  • Define and provides oversight of enterprise programs within the Elevate K-12 strategic roadmap 

Who you Are – Senior Vice President, Technology 

  • 15+ years of related Technology experience
  • 10+ years of People Leadership experience 
  • Demonstrated success scaling a technology function in a high-growth environment
  • Track record of success building and scaling a technology team
  • Ability to lead a global team through change management within a high-growth environment 
  • Experience leading global teams and resources (U.S. and India preferred) 
  • Experience in a high-growth, start-up environment preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Chicago or Remote with weekly/monthly travel to Chicago office
