Software Engineer – Quantitative Research

We are looking for a Software Engineer to work closely with our Cumberland quantitative research and engineering team to develop and maintain trading strategies and research infrastructure. In this role, you will have the opportunity to implement trading strategies in our existing multi-language technology stack and optimize research infrastructure to help expand research capacity. Our ideal candidate should have strong initiative and proven experience independently driving projects to completion.
Core Duties:
- Building and optimizing research backtesting infrastructure
- Implementing trading strategies
- Researching and providing access to new data sources
- Managing research environment
Required Skills & Experience:
- 2+ years of professional C++ and Python development experience
- Familiarity with CMake and maintenance of C++ development environment
- Familiarity with modern (C++17 or higher) C++ standards
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with distributed system
- Experience with Java preferred
- Experience with research systems and infrastructure preferred
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree
