Inventables helps makers generate income from their work. We do so by building 3D carving machines and the software to create designs and carve those designs on their machines. ABOUT THE POSITION

On our ecommerce team, we work to understand all aspects of the business, to build a platform that allows our company to scale while providing an exceptional customer experience. That means that, in addition to being experts in the technology and creative problem-solvers, we work with every department in the company. 

On the technical side, most of our software is built with Ruby on Rails and Javascript, hosted in AWS. 

Here’s what you’ll do: 

• Collaborate with people on our engineering team and across the company to design and implement software solutions to solve business problems.

• Mentor other team members in software development and design

• Work within the team to iterate on our development process and continuously improve our execution

• Evolve our infrastructure to automate operational tasks and to improve the reliability and transparency of our software

Here’s what we need:

• 2 + years of software engineering experience (we are hiring for all levels)

• Experience building a production web application with Ruby on Rails or a similar framework

• Experience with Javascript, HTML, CSS, and responsive design

• Experience with SQL databases

• Bonus: Familiarity with AWS or similar infrastructure tools

• Bonus: Experience with React, Redux, or similar libraries

• Bonus: Experience (or an interest in) mentoring other developers
