About the Role
We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to empower, inspire, and support a talented team of engineers. You will use your technical and leadership experience to coach and mentor your team, making sure that they create and deliver products that will delight our customers.
Responsibilities

  • Set expectations and help each team member realize their professional development goals
  • Promote collaboration and inclusivity within and across teams
  • Work with other leaders to publish and monitor Engineering metrics
  • Identify and address factors inhibiting the efficiency and effectiveness of development processes
  • Review technical specifications and contribute to the development of high quality, pragmatic solutions that fulfill complex business requirements
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and business leaders to develop a roadmap of features balanced with the need to address technical debt
  • Ensure the team follows best practices and meets quality and performance standards
  • Provide critical and timely feedback


Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience with an object-oriented or functional programming language
  • 2+ years of experience as a software engineering team lead or engineering manager, demonstrating a dedication to creating an environment that produces happy and fulfilled developers
  • Understanding of microservice architecture patterns and anti-patterns
  • Experience working with relational databases at scale
  • Although not a primary responsibility, take a hands-on development role as required
  • Stay current with relevant technology trends
  • Engage in the talent identification and recruitment process


Nice to have

  • Deep knowledge of the challenges inherent in concurrent and distributed programming and strategies for managing them
  • Familiarity with Linux, Git, Docker, and AWS
  • Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and services
  • Demonstrated professional experience with Elixir or Ruby
