Job Description:
JOB PURPOSE: Development of Electro Mechanical Control Systems using quantitative methods to solve problems for internal and external Caterpillar customers through integrating mechanical and electronic components and systems through control algorithm implementation and optimization using data from sensors, on-board models and product analytics. To direct and participate in the design and development of new Electro Mechanical Control Systems product concepts and complex engineering projects for release to production in a manner to ensure products provide superior performance, durability, quality, digital connectivity and serviceability.
JOB DUTIES: Responsible for the design, development, & testing of control system algorithms used in embedded systems using model based control system generation tools for hystat powertrains on off highway equipment.
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:
Required Qualifications:
- Masters Degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, or related area.
- 2 years of progressive experience in model based embedded control system design & development for off highway equipment. Included in this experience is the use of Matlab/Simulink, configuration management tools like GIT and CANape. Must also have 1 yr (concurrent) work experience in model based embedded controls systems development for hydraulic controls systems on off highway equipment.
Alternatively, will accept a Bachelors Degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, or related and 5 years of progressive experience in model based embedded control system design & development for off highway equipment. Included in this experience is the use of Matlab/Simulink, configuration management tool like GIT and CANape. Must also have 1 yr (concurrent) work experience in model based embedded controls systems development for hydraulic controls systems on off highway equipment.
