Your role in helping us shape the future:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer Industrialization to interface with procurement supplier quality and engineering on all supplier manufacturing and quality challenges across a portfolio of electronic electromechanical composite and installation RF/SATCOM products. The individual will help solve manufacturing and quality challenges with machined parts sheet metal harnesses electronic assemblies and composites.
The individual will be expected to understand the product line needs including supporting cost delivery and quality improvement programs with existing and new suppliers. To be able to drive improvements this role requires knowledge of the supply base current supplier performance and quality tools such as A3s RCCAs and lean manufacturing. This position will work with little direction and will lead cross-functional teams to accomplish supplier improvements plans. Success is rooted in the ability to build relationships with suppliers' personnel at various levels of their organizations. Some domestic travel is required.
Are you up to the challenge?

  • Create capability plans for critical suppliers. Responsible for supplier improvement plans.
  • Assess supplier's capabilities (including operational capacities) and monitor improvement plans.
  • Lead supplier improvement efforts using the following: process FMEAs SPC Lean and 5S.
  • Participate in and assist with supplier selection including make versus buy analyses.
  • Participate in and assist with the sourcing of new suppliers.
  • Key contributor to commodity strategies - growth sustain on-board off-board suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier scorecard and manage capability and capacity related feedback with key/critical suppliers including improvement actions.
  • Visit supplier sites to help create/audit supplier processes and offer technical support to ensure product quality cost and delivery targets are met.
  • Work with suppliers and our company engineering teams to conduct DFX activities on new designs.
  • Read evaluate and interpret blueprints and specifications to ensure appropriate level of detail to meet product requirements.


You should definitely have:

  • Bachelor's in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 7-10 years experience in the following:
    • Engineering liaison with manufacturing
    • Quality systems (ISO 9001/AS 9100) methods and practices
    • Electromechanical/Electronics/Composites
    • Procurement practices
    • Supplier development and/or customer support
    • Manufacturing
  • Strong leadership and problem solving skills with track record to meet deliverables and project deadlines.
  • Lean/Six Sigma trained (e.g. Green Belt Black Belt Master Black Belt)
  • 5S/Lean manufacturing and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Persuasive and excellent communicator (oral and written) with suppliers and company top management. Strong negotiation and influential skills.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings electronic schematics including inputs outputs and operation.
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinker. Ability to present data effectively and turn raw data into actionable insights and direction.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office with high ability in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in Sourcing Engineering Quality Manufacturing and program management
  • Experience in developing and implementing vendor qualification
  • Knowledge of quality and business systems
  • Commercial and financial acumen
  • Vast experience with cross functional management
  • Report and Procedure writing with excellent presentation skills
  • Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings
  • Understanding manufacturing processes


It would be nice if you had:

  • FAA Experience
    • Part 21 and 145
  • New process and product implementation experience with Aerospace OEM's
  • Experience with Agile PLM
