Your role in helping us shape the future:
We are seeking a Sr Member of Technical Staff (Engineer) to join our airborne RF hardware engineering team. As a Sr Member of Technical Staff (Engineer), you will provide RF Hardware architecture input for current and future Intelsat Inflight airborne systems. You will specify requirements and provide engineering oversight in design, prototyping and testing phases of the development of avionic satellite communication systems including all subsystems (antenna, tracking, LNA/LNB, etc.).
Are you up to the challenge?
- Build and execute end-to-end (E2E) network simulation models, to provide predictive engineering inputs to the Intelsat technology roadmap.
- Perform "what-if" analyses to assess E2E, big-picture ramifications of specific airborne terminal performance characteristics.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other stakeholders within Intelsat (other terminal use cases, network, systems, etc.) to ensure E2E objectives are met.
- Work with vendors and certification engineering on to ensure relevant FCC and FAA requirements are met.
- Interface closely with network and other development teams to ensure that all system level performance requirements are achieved.
You should definitely have:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics- advanced degree preferred.
- Proficiency with MATLAB, IDL or other mathematical analysis software.
- 10+ years of related engineering experience.
- Familiarity with microwave measurement techniques and measurement equipment.
- Experience with active antenna pointing and control systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work well autonomously.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication skills, to include technical documentation, written reports and proposals, development and delivery of presentations, and the ability to listen to and communicate effectively with customers and vendors.
It would be nice if you had:
- Experience with airborne RF systems preferred.
- Experience with satellite communication preferred.
- Previous avionics experience preferred.
