About the role:

We are leveraging the latest technologies to advance our mission of connecting millions of workers with millions of shifts. Join us on our path, building and scaling an evolving microservice vision based on AWS Lambda, Kinesis, DynamoDB/Aurora, integrated with a Athena/Sagemaker data science learning and predictive platform.

Your job will be helping pave the road for our agile product teams to feel empowered to release scalable, performant, supportable product capabilities into production. We strive for high degrees of automation from quality through to continuous deployment. You’ll help develop the build pipelines, patterns, practices, and support the core infrastructure.

Experience Required:

• 2+ year of administering, deploying, and monitoring a large-scale SaaS-based production environment on a cloud-hosting provider (AWS preferred)

• 6+ years of Linux systems, network, and infrastructure administration

• Strong development/scripting skills (Python and/or Go preferred)

• Building infrastructure and application deployment pipelines for a microservice architecture (e.g. CloudFormation, Terraform, CodeDeploy/CodePipeline, Puppet, Chef, Ansible)

• Balancing infrastructure, operational, and security concerns while enabling high-velocity self-service product agile teams

• Understanding how to maintain highly secure environments designed to protect PII and customer data, including proper uses of encryption, firewalls, code security standards, intrusion detection, and penetration testing

• Strong communication and experience collaborating between many teams

• Experience working as part of an agile iterative development process

Desired Skills:

• AWS Solutions Architect certified

• Experience consuming (and preferably building) RESTful APIs

• Experience using SRE techniques to establish patterns for reliability

• Software architecture experience, from service decomposition, to queueing and communication techniques, caching and performance

• Experience migrating infrastructure and systems to the cloud

• Experience building systems and monitors for intrusion detection and penetration testing

• Experience implementing and certifying for advanced security and controls standards, such as SOC 2, SOX, GDPR, or PCI DSS
