Job Summary:

RedShelf is seeking an Accounting Manager who will be responsible for performing and overseeing the day-to-day operations over billing , general accounting special projects including certain tax areas. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience working on general accounting, with at least 5 years of experience working with sales/use tax and payroll taxes. Our ideal candidate has excellent communication and leadership skills which will help with the supervision of invoicing/billing throughout the month and at month-end, assisting with our annual GAAP audit, understanding and recording journal entries, as well as ensuring that we maintain registration in different jurisdictions for sales/use and payroll taxes.



Duties & Responsibilities

  • Complete day-to-day general accounting special projects and annual GAAP audit assistance
  • Supervise and assist with billing activities to include both our billing of publishing partner vendors as well as invoicing of our customers and troubleshooting issues that may arise
  • Manage and maintain RedShelf’s sales/use tax and payroll tax to ensure we are in compliance with laws and regulations
  • Ability to create and understand journal entries impacting our monthly ledger
  • Ability to work through steps to “close the books” each month in a timely manner
  • Tax experience, including registering and updating sales tax, use tax, payroll tax, and income tax (State and Federal). Experience with DE and IL annual reports.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining our NetSuite ledger system

 

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years working on general accounting
  • 5+ years of experience working with state sales/use filings and payroll tax registrations
  • 2+ years of experience working with NetSuite is required
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, CPA is preferred
  • A fundamental understanding of US GAAP is a must
  • Skilled with Microsoft Word and Excel (ability to perform pivots and vlookups is required) 
  • Experience with SQL queries is a plus
  • Comfortable giving and receiving critical feedback
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
