Accounts Payable Specialist
We are looking for a dynamic Accounts Payable Specialist to join our small but mighty Finance Team to support our growing company. Sprout’s Finance Team works in numbers while living and breathing the Sprout brand. Doing our jobs effectively means we approach each interaction with confidence, each process with diligence, and our customers with care. We are looking for our next all-knowing AP guru who isn’t just about getting things done but can scale and enhance our existing processes.
As Sprout Social is a leader in our industry, the support this role provides is critical to customer success. Companies like Dropbox, Zendesk, Fender, Brooks Running, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Evernote, and more than 20,000 other organizations rely on our products to create stronger relationships with their customers through social media.
Within 1 month, You’ll:
- Complete Sprout’s New Hire training program alongside other new Sprout team members
- Have a firm understanding of the teams goals and core responsibilities
- Gain a solid foundational knowledge of the accounts payable function’s impact on accounting and financial statements
- Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills
Within 3 months, You’ll:
- Be able to navigate Sprout’s accounting software to enter, approve, track, and pay invoices in a timely manor
- Complete vendor setup forms for electronic payments and provide relevant vendor information as needed
- Maintain and organize vendor listing
- Handle relevant vendor tax documents
- Interact with expense reimbursement system and oversee process
- Be a strong team player and collaborate with others
Within 6 months, You’ll:
- Fully own the accounts payable processes from start to finish for Sprout and subsidiaries
- Collaborate across business areas to collect and understand invoices and documentation
- Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify potential issues
- Record journal entries and gain exposure to other accounting functions
- Research and resolve payment processing issues and discrepancies
- Communicate and present data and findings to management
- Assist in other accounting areas and close processes as needed
- Be flexible and able to pivot quickly when changes are made to processes and systems
- Thrive in an exciting and fast paced environment
- Exercise solid interpersonal and listening skills while having established rapport and credibility with our immediate and external team
Within 12 months, You’ll:
- Be involved in the annual audit process
- Assist in developing solutions to improve and make all AP related processes more streamlined
- Develop impressive analytical, critical thinking and organizational skills
- Be an efficient multi-tasker and work independently while maintaining excellent organization
- Develop excellent attention to detail and accuracy
