Billing and Reimbursement Specialist

With the advent of genomic sequencing, we can finally decode and process our genetic makeup. We now have more data than ever before but providers do not have the infrastructure or expertise to make sense of this data. We are on a mission to connect an entire ecosystem to redefine how genomic data is used in clinical settings. We are looking for a Billing and Reimbursement Specialist to join our rapidly growing Reimbursement Team.
Responsibilities
- Communicate directly with physicians, care teams and partner labs to obtain missing billing information
- Manage the Tempus patient financial assistance program which includes handling patient / physician questions, follow-up on incomplete applications and ensure patients are billed according to their program status
- Responsible for self pay / VIP collections and follow-up
- Manage client billing and follow-up
- Customer service liaison responsible for addressing Tempus billing process questions from providers / patients
- Responsible for insurance credentialing and provider enrollment activities including provider/EDI enrollment, completing state Medicaid applications and ensuring all existing Tempus credentials are current
- Assist Director with aged account clean-up in Tempus billing system
- Responsible for payer portal set-up and management
- Ad hoc requests and special projects as needed

- Ability to communicate effectively with patients in person, by telephone and email
- Results oriented, highly energetic, dynamic individual with hands-on mentality
- Proven ability to learn new skills quickly and adapt to new processes smoothly
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or 4+ years healthcare revenue cycle / billing operations
- Familiar with laboratory billing, EDI enrollment, payer portals, Quadax a plus
- Proficient in Excel
