The Role:

Braviant’s finance team is looking for a Capital Markets Associate to assist with all aspects of equity / debt capital raising and corporate development activities. This high impact role will support the Director of Capital Markets to close transactions, prepare investor relations and marketing materials, assist with due diligence, perform valuation analyses, and collaborate with other team members to execute strategic growth initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to be on the front lines of both shaping strategy and managing growth / private equity processes for a fast growing fintech platform which has already reached substantial scale. The right candidate will be a results oriented self-starter, creative problem solver, clear communicator, and have a passion for building a career in fintech. This is a highly visible pre-MBA role that will work closely with the executive team to drive growth and will have substantial opportunity to increase responsibility over time. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide detailed monthly and quarterly capital market updates / dashboards on public and private companies within our industry (benchmarking relevant KPIs, comparable company and transaction analyses, tracking IPOs, debt raises, and capital market transactions more broadly across fintech)
  • Assist with putting together marketing materials, data rooms, term sheets, and other ad-hoc analyses for new and existing debt and equity partners
  • Perform financial modeling, industry diligence, and / or research for new business development or partnership opportunities to drive strategic growth
  • Help broader finance team with financial modeling activities as needed (researching and forecasting internal KPIs, forecasting cash needs, tracking covenants, scenario and sensitivity analyses)
  • Build, maintain, and track relationships with investment banks and potential debt and equity capital partners

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business field (finance or accounting preferred) or Economics
  • 3-5 years of experience in investing banking, corporate development, private equity, venture capital, senior / mezzanine lending or strategy consulting
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and perform various valuation analyses and build / run financial models
  • Experience with market mapping or performing competitive / industry research and synthesizing findings for senior management
  • Relevant business development experience (assessing partnership opportunities, forecasting product launches, formulating business cases to pursue growth initiatives)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and outstanding written communication and presentation abilities
  • Proven ability to develop relationships across departments as both a leader and a participant
  • Ability to quickly understand the complex compliance and fast changing financial regulatory landscape and develop innovative insights and opportunities for our business
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and other MS Office applications
  • SQL experience a plus

Our company is located in the heart of downtown with great access to public transportation (both Metra & CTA), coffee shops, and restaurants. Currently our teams are working remotely for the foreseeable future.
