Commercial Loan Coordinator
What will your day look like?
You will be responsible for a diverse range of duties under the umbrella of Portfolio Risk & Operations, which includes assisting the Commercial Underwriters in various tasks in underwriting and closing commercial real estate loans. The incumbent is expected to engage with the broader Commercial Lending Department as well as Legal, Accounting, Loan Trading Desk and Technology. Resources to do the job require the ability to be extremely organized, detail-oriented, skilled at multi-tasking, proactive, analytically inclined, self-motivated and have an interest in learning various aspects of commercial real estate lending.
Responsibilities

- Promote and enhance a risk-aware culture by adhering to established standards and regulatory requirements
- Assist Originators and Underwriters by preparing and updating underwriting and closing checklists, including downloading financial and legal documents, and communicating with Borrowers as needed
- Engage Third-party vendors for Appraisals and Environmental reports
- Perform background searches on Borrowers and Guarantors
- Perform OFAC searches and ID Verifications; and, open Membership Accounts for new relationships
- Order Experian Credit Reports for new loans, and loans under Annual Review
- Work with outside counsel to initiate loan documentation, including legal searches required
- Assist Underwriters in preparing PowerPoint Presentations for loan committee, and take minutes at the committee meetings
- Assist Underwriters in closing loans by obtaining property tax information, calculating tax escrows, and preparing loan closing numbers
- Review insurance certificates for new loans to ensure coverage is adequate; perform Flood Searches
- Prepare information needed to board new loans, and establish ticklers for same
- Upload Credit and Legal files to loan platform
- Upload financial information to 3rd party vendors for Annual Loan Reviews; update Tracking Report
- Supply regulators and auditors with requisite loan level information as needed
- Participate in special projects as assigned; and, create project timelines and report near and long-term actionable items
Qualifications
What makes you a great fit?
You’ll be a great fit if in addition to the completion of a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum 2 years’ experience handling commercial real estate transactions as a paralegal, title company officer, or investment sales analyst required, and you have:
- Alternatively, the candidate will have an undergraduate or master’s degree in real estate combined with a minimum 2 years’ experience working for a commercial real estate firm.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Strong team player with demonstrated initiative
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
