Compliance Auditor
About the role:
This position will participate in the development, implementation and performance of compliance monitoring and audits to support the company’s continued compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations and with the company’s policies and procedures in connection with the operations of the company’s online lending business. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge in a variety of the concepts, practices, and procedures of the Business and rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
What you'll be doing:
- Perform compliance related testing and monitoring procedures for the company’s compliance functions (to include the operations of the Business), documents, policies, procedures, and training.
- Schedule, conduct, document, and maintain comprehensive testing documentation for all compliance monitoring and audit related activities for the Business in consultation with the Compliance Manager and other Compliance staff.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of industry regulations, legislation, and best practices.
- Consult with Legal, Audit, IT and other Departments to coordinate compliance related monitoring and audit activities.
- Suggest and recommend effective solutions within own area of responsibility and throughout the Business.
- Assist in the development of compliance monitoring and audit testing strategies to guide the company’s near-term planning (one to two years) and support the Business and its financial and operational objectives.
- Initiate the development or enhancement of new and existing compliance monitoring and audit concepts, techniques, and standards in consultation with the Compliance Audit Manager and other functional areas, as needed. Responsible for the successful implementation of these concepts, techniques, and standards for the Business.

- Bachelor’s degree required
- Regulatory compliance and/or audit experience in a consumer lending industry a plus (e.g., short-term single payment or installment lending, bank, mortgage company, thrift or credit union, consumer lending, etc.).
- Strong exposure in the implementation, training and monitoring of business operations for compliance with laws and regulations and established policies, business rules and procedures.
- Willingness to learn and assist with other compliance-related projects and initiatives.
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently or in collaboration with a team
- Proficiency and self-sufficiency in Microsoft Office applications (namely, Word and Excel).
