Content Researcher, Equity Data
Morningstar’s Research group provides independent analysis on individual securities, managed investments, portfolios, and markets. The group also collects and maintains high-quality data on the equities, managed investments, and fixed-income investments we cover in our database, one of the largest investment databases in the world. Morningstar is one of the largest independent sources of manager, equity, and credit research in the world. We transform data into insights that investors can use to reach their financial goals.
The Equity Data team is looking for a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, creative, and results-driven candidate with 3+ years of experience in equity data to join its Equity Data Methodology and Strategy Team. The team’s mandate is to be the experts in the field of equity data, whom our external and internal clients can trust to provide intelligent, valuable, and timely solutions. To this end as a content specialist you will work with business leaders, product managers, project managers, developers, operation team leaders, quality assurance analysts and client/third-party stakeholders to enhance our equity data capabilities across Morningstar’s various product lines. You will work in a global environment, managing stakeholders in multiple regions. As a content expert, you will be a resource to local data analysts.
Responsibilities:
Work with the product teams to define and understand client personas, needs, and workflows
Translate client needs and workflows into concise data and product requirements
Work with the various product and data teams to implement new datasets and capabilities
Responsible for creating client facing documentation
Responsible for conducting market, industry, and competitor research
Provide high level project management for cross team projects
Communicate clear and concise project status information to stakeholders including the sales team and external clients
Conduct and organize product training sessions to elevate the level of equity data knowledge within the group
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Business
Understand how different client personas use Equity Data
Knowledge of accounting principles and equity ratios/calculations
More than 3+ years of experience and proven track record in the equity industry
Able to serve as a subject matter expert and guide colleagues on other teams
Significant experience working with customers’ requests and questions
Able to take the initiative and work without detailed guidance or supervision
Able to influence colleagues that you do not manage but whose resource & skills you need to achieve project goals
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Curious and enjoys problem solving
A pro-active and positive attitude and a team player
Interest and personal participation in equity markets is considered an asset
CFA is considered an asset
