About This Role

The Controller will be a key member of the Finance team, operating in a high-growth, rapidly evolving organization. Partnering closely with and reporting to a strategic CFO, the Controller will be responsible for the accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions and the production of monthly GAAP-compliant financial statements. This position will serve as the primary contact for external auditors and tax advisors and is responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulations, including audit and tax requirements. This position will oversee the accounting function as the business scales--the candidate will lead ERP implementation and systems integration.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead monthly close process. Prepare timely GAAP financial statements and reports
    • Provide timely and accurate information on a GAAP compliant basis to the CFO, Leadership Team, Shareholders, Board of Directors, Lenders and Auditors
    • Recognize revenue in accordance with ASC 606
    • Account for inventory in compliance with ASC 330
    • Account for stock-based compensation in compliance with with ASC 718
  • Manage accounting, treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, inventory, payroll, and the cap table
    • Manage the treasury process across the business to ensure a current view of liquidity and working capital needs
    • Manage payables and receivables to acceptable levels
    • Maintain the cap table with the support of outside counsel
  • Ensure a rigorous financial controls environment within the business to maintain compliance with current and anticipated legal and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate and manage external reviews, audits and tax compliance
  • Support the CFO to build and monitor the budget
  • Help Hologram build to scale
    • Lead selection and support implementation of systems to support financial growth of the organization
    • In collaboration with other departments, ensure integration of the ERP with CRM and business intelligence systems
    • Implement automated financial processes to enhance efficiency across the organization
    • Provide finance perspective on administrative process standardization throughout the organization
    • Establish new policies and procedures across the company and improve existing policies and procedures as required
    • Scale the accounting team in alignment with the growth of the organization

What gets us excited about you:

Accounting experience

  • CPA with 7+ years of senior accounting leadership experience
  • Public accounting firm experience with national or global firm
  • Strong technical knowledge of GAAP accounting, income statements, balance sheets, cash flow
  • Have led accounting, treasury, financial reporting; international experience a plus
  • SaaS and telecommunications accounting experience, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), inventory (ASC 330), and stock-based compensation (ASC 718)
  • Track record of working capital management
  • Inventory management experience
  • Understanding of tax matters including federal, state, sales tax, and SALT
  • Deep knowledge of operating ERP systems

Operating Experience

  • Experience leading ERP implementation and systems integration with other key functions
  • Comfort with financial applications to enhance and automate processes, reporting, analysis and controls
  • Experience supporting the CFO through financing-related due diligence processes
  • Experience building and managing a team of accounting professionals in a high-growth environment
  • Ability to manage and maintain the cap table with the support of outside counsel
