What you get to do:
OppFi is looking for someone to join our installment credit team. You will develop risk strategies and policies for our current installment loan product and the new iterations of the product. You will lead credit strategies to improve waterfall and credit performance, and develop a team of experienced professionals. You'll also be involved in high visibility projects to make OppFi's installment loan product the best offering for our customer regarding price, features and underwriting process.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise to translate our problems into credit risk framework(s) and recommend actions and provide insights
- Develop credit policies from the ground up for new lending products and iterate to improve underwriting criteria and loan amount/pricing strategies
- Determine underwriting criteria using new credit risk models in partnership with our data science team
- Guide company-wide fraud risk strategy and build tools and systems (in partnership with other teams) to minimize the risk
- Set procedures for the team to monitor the risk performance of all of our credit products and improve for company goals
- Work with vendors to manage product evaluation and data studies, in collaboration with the Data Science team
- Manage a team of risk analysts and improve team growth through hiring, training, documentation, and knowledge sharing
- Implement team-wide standards and procedures for credit and fraud risk management practices
- Work with teams to explore new ways of finding insights from data and to ensure understanding on priorities
- Work with senior leadership (C-Suite) team members to manage expectations around delivery and present solutions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (required) or advanced degree (preferred) in a quantitative field (mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering)
- 10+ years of experience in Data Science, Credit Risk, Fraud Risk, Marketing Analytics, Operations Analytics, Modeling or related field
- Hands-on leader with 6+ years of experience leading a team of analytics professionals
- Work experience in Financial Services, preferably at a FinTech company, building risk strategies for several credit products (loans, lines of credit, credit cards)
- Advanced SQL programming experience in Python
- Experience supporting with teams in a dynamic environment
- You will be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis

Job Level: Director
The minimum salary for this role is $149,000. The total compensation package includes eligibility for performance-based bonuses as well as a 1-time equity grant based on level.
The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be at the company’s sole discretion, and determined by a myriad of factors including, but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, and other relevant business considerations.
