Department OverviewVideo Security & Analytics is a $900M+ global segment of Motorola Solutions. It consists of Video Security, Access Controls, Video Analytics, and Body-worn Video Solutions. These product offerings have been developed through a combination of organic investments and acquisitions. The segment serves government and commercial customers.
Finance support for the segment is led by the Products & Sales Finance organization. As a part of this group, this position will lead product development and sales finance activities for a $300M+ fast-growing portfolio of video solutions for State & Local and Federal government customers. Position reports to the Senior Director of Finance for Products & Sales organization
Job Description
Responsibilities include:
Sales Finance Responsibilities
Serve as direct operating partner to VP of sales for N. America Government Video solutions
Drive Orders and Sales for businesses in the video portfolio
Lead semi-quarterly Committed View (CV) preparation process
Create presentation materials
Advise on projections and commitments, drive towards growth objectives, develop narratives around business results,and advocate for investments
Participate and lead finance discussion in N. America CV meeting for the business
Support budgets, determine proper sales quotas, and sign off on commissions
Lead Long-Range Plan process
Product Development Finance Responsibilities
Since several acquired products are incorporated into broader video solutions, this position will assume a central role in structuring video deals and navigating through various complexities associated with integration including:
Develop governance, orderability, intercompany accounting, legal oversight, and recording of video results
Serve as video solutions Finance SME to regional finance and operating teams and advise on processes
Partner with Product Controllers to understand nuances of each product
Establish Gross Margin goals and execute towards agreed upon metrics
Partner with HQ FP&A to address product structure and cost allocations
Develop and produce a quarterly reporting package for total Video Security & Analytics business
Represent product Finance in pre-acquisition due diligence for M&A activities; lead M&A Finance integration
Additional Knowledge/Skills
Strong presentation, oral, and written communication skills with capability to confidently present to senior executives
Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
Broad financial and accounting knowledge, good business IQ, and self-confidence to drive consensus across multiple perspectives towards a common outcome
2+ years of Sales and Distribution finance experience and ability to effectively partner with Sales leadership on achieving set objective
2+ years of product development finance experience; capacity to work with multiple constituencies, solve complicated problems related to pricing, intercompany accounting, revenue recognition, and profitability
Self starter who will find the right balance between leveraging available resources and doing his or her own detailed work
Ability to mentor and coach more junior level team members
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
Role requires approximately 20-30% travel to participate in operations reviews, customer visits, general meetings with Sales VP
Basic Requirements
7+ years Finance/Accounting experience with a demonstrated career progression including roles with ownership of financial results
Bachelors in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA is preferred
