BigTime Software is looking to add a highly-motivated Finance Manager & Controller to join our Accounting and Finance team. Reporting to the CFO, the Finance Manager & Controller will be responsible for leading the accounting and financial reporting for the company, building and deploying scalable and efficient processes as BigTime continues to grow, and ensuring BigTime has timely and accurate information to meet its strategic business goals. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with experience leading and developing talent in a very fast-paced and dynamic environment, and a passion for finding and owning opportunities.
As the Finance Manager & Controller, you will be responsible for:
- Managing the general accounting and financial reporting function
- Identification, implementation, and oversight of the execution of necessary financial processes, policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with US GAAP and all applicable registration, regulatory and tax laws
- Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
- Ensuring financial plans are consistent with strategic business goals
- Provide financial reports and interpret financial information while recommending further courses of action
- Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans
- Optimizing operational accounting processes
- Providing financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, customer analysis, capital expenditures, etc.
- Managing relationships and serving as the primary contact with various third parties including outside audit firms, banks, insurance agents, and credit card / merchant account processors
- Examining our process for invoicing clients, identifying ways to increase the likelihood of timely payment, and setting up the proper tracking mechanisms to ensure our efforts are actually working
- Working closely with the executive team and creating board of directors reports and analysis findings
- Managing a team, including hiring, onboarding, developing and retaining accounting talent
- Supporting other areas of the business with financial ad hoc reporting requests as needed
Okay, we’ve laid out what the job is - now are you qualified? Here are the minimum qualifications we’re looking for in a Finance Manager & Controller:
- BS/BA from four-year college or university in Accounting or Finance
- 7+ years of finance/accounting experience, CPA license is preferred.
- 2+ years experience supervising, developing and mentoring a team
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including rules specific to software as a service (“SaaS”) revenue recognition and ASC 606
- SaaS metrics and reporting experience in a high growth company preferred
- Demonstrates highest level of personal integrity and commitment to individual and team accountability
- Detail-oriented and committed to 100% accuracy of all information
- Excellent communication skills with the interpersonal and leadership qualities required to continuously motivate and develop a team,
- Ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task in a very fast-paced environment
- Experience successfully scaling processes and programs within a high-growth company
- Highly proficient with MS office suite, expert-level Excel skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals at all levels
- SaaS Optics experience or other SaaS billing software is a plus
