About the Department:
US Finance is comprised of professionals who lead all aspects of all financial activity, including accounting, economic policy, and business insights & strategy for McDonald's USA, LLC. The members of Business Insights & Strategy act as internal strategy consultants, providing thought leadership and actionable insights to support the US business. We use a combination of consumer, competitor, and internal data to understand and communicate our performance, as well as industry trends, to our key stakeholders. From this data, we generate insights to identify performance opportunities, build short and long term strategies and optimize initiatives, ultimately helping to bring these strategies and tactics to life across our network of over 14,000 US restaurants.
About the Opportunity:
This role is part of the Strategy & Performance Management team, responsible for reporting coordinated business and test performance to cross functional stakeholders, including US Leadership, Field Insights/Finance, Marketing, Menu Strategy, Supply Chain, Operations and Leadership Franchisees. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the transformation of data visualization within our insights teams, including reporting/dashboard design, development and implementation to provide visual storytelling and facilitate quick, data driven decision making through analytics.
A successful candidate is solutions oriented, has the ability to identify key metrics and translate those metrics into informative and useful visual reporting and can work effectively with end-users and cross-functional partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for collaborating with the team to determine business requirements and translate these requirements into recommended reporting solutions
- Analyzing and defining tasks, data flows, and dependencies
- Crafting, building and managing advanced audience-specific reporting, dashboards and other solutions using Tableau
- Translating complex and ambiguous data into intuitive, interactive interfaces and engaging visualization to accelerate decision making
- Capturing user requirements, developing storyboards, wireframes, and prototypes using design best practices
- Onboarding and training of new users to the platform to facilitate enablement for teams
- Ad hoc analysis
Qualifications
- Validated abilities to deliver successful end to end reporting in large companies through automated dashboards and other data visualization tools
- Customer-focused strategic thinker with the ability to see how data connects and impacts the overall business
- Strong prioritization, problem solving and project management skills (from conception to completion)
- Ability to influence by presenting data clearly and compellingly
- Ambitious with the ability to establish and meet deadlines
- Comfortable with ambiguity
- Operates effectively in a team-based environment
- 2-3 years hands-on Tableau data visualization experience necessary, Tableau certification preferred
Experience:
- Bachelors/Masters degree in computer science/ math/ statistics/analytics or a business related discipline with at least 3-5 years of work experience
