Financial Analyst (3+ Years' Accounting Experience)
Responsibilities
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for financial reporting and analysis functions in support of the Packaging business unit at HAVI Global Solutions. This role reports to the Manager, Financial Reporting and will be engaged in monthly close, analysis and reporting responsibilities while maintaining strong financial controls and partnering with the business to understand the financial impacts of operational activities. The position will require research, analysis and model building and will assist with the budgeting activities for the business unit.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Participate in monthly general ledger close process for Packaging business unit including preparing journal entries and reviewing balance sheet accounts
- Prepare and analyze monthly operational expenses for assigned departments
- Deliver periodic reporting including monthly financial results, year-end packages and tax kits
- Perform inventory management functions
- Assist with annual budget process and associated forecast updates
- Analyze customer packaging spend in relation to competitors, packaging cost drivers and trends
- Ensure HGS maintains a strong internal control environment detecting and reporting any weakness as well as providing recommendations for improvements
- Support audits (internal and external) related to assigned lines of business
- Identify and improve processes and functions within job-scope
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2+ years relevant accounting experience
- Strong accounting knowledge
- Ability to prepare financial reports and present analysis to business partners
- Ability to effectively communicate to managers, business partners and external customers
- Must be able to analyze data and draw logical conclusions and recommendations from the data
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities with good time management
- Experience with JD Edwards, ERP, Hyperion Reporting & Planning and Oracle Business Objects, preferred
- Budgeting and Planning and/or Financial Planning and Analysis experience a plus
