Job Description

Here is the role:
GBS Finance records and reports on real estate transactions for over 2,000 franchisees and more than 16,000 restaurants in the U.S. and Canada. We are responsible for the calculation and billing of rents and service fees, all lease related accounting activities, and construction project and fixed asset accounting processes. This new specialist level role will allow you to be involved in accounting within Lease Expense for US properties. Activities include but are not limited to work on monthly close, CAM/TAX reconciliations, lease review and other related tasks. Our key customers may include the Market Finance and Development Teams, Franchising, Legal, Corporate Tax, and Asset Management.

Responsibilities

Your Responsibilities:
• You will prepare detailed analysis and document amounts due/owed between McDonalds, Landlord and/or Owner/Operator
• Work to compare landlord CAM and Real Estate Tax Reconciliations against the terms of the lease to ensure billing accuracy
• Review lease sites by comparing lease terms to lease system for accuracy
• Act as a go to for other lease representatives to provide mentorship for unusual leasing situations
• Participate in monthly close activities relating to US lease accounting
• Ensure SOX and company policy compliance for various processes related to lease accounting
• Participate in special projects as assigned

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements:
• You have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• You have at least 2 years of qualifying accounting work experience (focus on lease accounting a plus)
• You have excellent social, verbal and written communication skills, with a strong customer service focus
• Your strength is analytical and problem solving skills
• Phenomenal teammate with an improvement mind set
• Computer proficiency in Excel, Word and Power Point. Oracle and Tririga knowledge is a large plus but not required
