The Accounts Payable Manager will lead a team of experienced Accounts Payable professionals and serve on a leadership team known for collaboration, fostering an environment of continuous improvement, staff development, and acknowledgment of team achievements.
As the Accounts Payable Manager, you will be a change agent in initiating, implementing and sustaining automation, system optimization, and process improvements. You will contribute to the organization through your ability to mentor and develop existing staff, engage and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and advocate for an environment of proactive communication with Life Fitness suppliers.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage and direct all aspects of the Company’s invoice management process
Ensure general ledger coding on all invoices is completed in a timely and accurate manner
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year end accounts payable close processes
Manage daily responsibilities and provide strategic guidance to accounts payable team members
Responsible for maintaining the vendor master file and for annual 1099 reporting
Communicate with both internal and external audiences in an effective and appropriate manner
Ensure ongoing, high-quality service is delivered to both external vendors and internal stakeholders
Manage and lead efforts across the accounts payable department including the development of new, or modification of existing procedures to increase productivity and optimize efficiency
Lead process improvement efforts including the development and implementation of solutions and innovative responses to issues that arise in the procure-to-pay cycle
Establish data analytics and performance metrics for the accounts payable function. Monitor, analyze, and proactively respond to data trends. Present on analytics and metrics weekly to management
Manage the purchase and time and expense card purchases for the Company
Required Skills, Experience & Education
8+ years of full-cycle accounts payable experience as an Accounting or AP leader
Demonstrated success driving sustained and consistent outcomes based on automation, solutions implementation and process improvements
Manufacturing experience required, with multi-entity experience or exposure
Previous background leading a team, motivating and developing staff, and managing towards measurable goals and objectives
Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with Oracle preferred and Sage a plus
Advance Microsoft Excel skills
Strong understanding of GAAP principles
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
