What will your day look like?

The Procurement Data Analyst will support the procurement strategy by proactively analyzing data and producing reports that enables actionable business insight and supports effective decision making.  Responsibilities include data gathering, integrating new data sets, building reports and dashboards and communicating findings and recommendations to business partners throughout the organization. Resources to do the job require reliance on technical knowledge of data, project management skills and building collaborative relationships across the organization general direction is received from the Senior Manager, Procurement.

  • Benchmark current spend against the market and develop reporting to provide insights and recommendations to optimize spend
  • Develop and modify reports, verify information integrity and design dashboards, scorecards, charts/graphs, drill-downs and dynamic reports
  • Manage and maintain data and analytics pipeline from data source creation to reporting and dashboard development
  • Perform spend diagnostics that leads to identification and implementation of cost saving/efficiency opportunities
  • Work with financial data to determine total cost of ownership
  • Report on contract expirations proactively and assist the sourcing team in developing a renewal strategy
  • Ensure the continuous maintenance of the spend database; review the accuracy of the dataset
  • Serve as point person for spend analytics platform, running periodic ad hoc reports
  • Partner with the Category Managers to deliver reporting of savings and operational performance metrics
  • Maintain and communicate status on supplier key performance indicators (KPI) to assist the sourcing team with effective decision making
  • Analyze monthly Procurement reporting for compliance with policies and procedures
  • Understand the BI landscape and bring innovation and fresh thinking while addressing the current and future needs of the business
  • Work to continuously improve efficiencies related to procurement policies and practices
  • Support Sourcing and IT asset management
  • Support third-party risk management

Adhere to and ensure compliance of all business transactions with policy and process of the Bank Secrecy Act.  Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, company procedures and policies. Maintains integrity and ethics in all actions and conversations with or regarding credit union members and their accounts; complies with Privacy Act directives.

Qualifications

What makes you a great fit?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science or related field, required
  • 3+ years’ experience in a highly analytical role within business intelligence, procurement, accounting, finance or similar is highly preferred
  • Experience and basic understanding of Sourcing and Procurement
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with vendors, and business partners
  • Strong process management and organizational skills  
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Proven experience using data and analytics to solve business problems
  • Ability to self-motivate, problem solve, and exercise independent judgment 
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility with changing priorities on a daily basis
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality and continuous improvement
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, required 
  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, SAP Business Objects or similar required
  • Proficient understanding of relational databases and SQL
  • Experience creating actionable reports from disparate data sources
  • Experience with a procurement system such as Determine or Coupa, a plus
  • Ability to influence without authority
  • Desire to continually learn and improve approaches and methodologies
  • High level of detail orientation and analysis

Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
Alliant employees can contribute up to $2,750 annually to their Health Care FSA and $5,000 to their dependent care FSA.
Disability insurance
Company provides Short Term Disability benefit payable for up to 13 weeks as well as Long Term Disability insurance that covers 66.67% of your monthly earnings up to $10,000 monthly maximum payout.
