The Role
As a Senior Corporate Accountant at GTI, you will be responsible for supporting GTI’s financial reporting processes including maintaining fixed asset subledgers and management reporting along with the preparation of internal and external financial statements. You possess strong business acumen with the ability to effectively address both financial and operational challenges.
Responsibilities
- Creates and monitors a system of controls, procedures and forms for the recording of fixed assets
- Recommends to management any updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets
- Records fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system
- Tracks and reports the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts and closes out those accounts once the related projects have been completed
- Reconciles the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger
- Tracks company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budget and management authorizations
- Supports the preparation of the consolidated financial statement process
- Works with the external public accountants in planning and executing audits and reviews
- Performs period-end financial close responsibilities including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Prepares supporting schedules for financial statements and quarterly and annual regulatory filings using applicable systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business-related field, Master’s Degree or CPA certification, preferred
- 4+ years’ experience in Accounting
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness
- Adapts and thrives in a demanding, start-up, fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Possesses a high level of critical thinking
- Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information
- Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Green Thumb
- Must have a solid understanding of the Cannabis laws, rules and regulations and passion to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws.
Additional Requirements
- Must pass any and all required background checks
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
- Must possess valid driver’s license
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
