Sr Accountant - Consultant
Develops, implements and/or maintains one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, etc. Reviews and interprets financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations. Balances financial records and prepares financial statements. Monitors and develops monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for projects. Provides record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions. May prepare federal, state and local reports and tax returns. May assist in the setup of processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report revenue, including deferred revenue, in accordance with the company revenue recognition policy. May generate revenue reports for internal and/or external use. May interpret reports and records for managers/stakeholders. May be involved in reviewing, tracking and maintaining information in the financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and other accounting regulations. May also assist and support the organization with compliance with stated control policies and procedures and provide audit support. SEC Reporting gathers data and prepares documents required by compliance agencies (SEC) for external financial reporting. Uses a formal process for appropriate data gathering, consolidation and analysis of financial data relative to the preparation of SEC filings, including but not limited to 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, proxy statements and the annual report. Prepares cash flow statements, earnings release calculations, equity footnotes and other equity related disclosures. Ensures data integrity and proper accounting with auditors who support the review and audit of SEC filings. Gathers reference material concerning new and existing technical accounting literature to ensure compliance. Potentially requires special skills in US GAAP, SEC and PCAOB, and equity accounting.
