About the Department:
US Finance is comprised of professionals who lead all aspects of all financial activity, including accounting, economic policy, and business insights & strategy for McDonald's USA, LLC. The members of Business Insights & Strategy act as internal strategy consultants, providing thought leadership and actionable insights to support the US business. We use a combination of consumer, competitor, and internal data to understand and communicate our performance, as well as industry trends, to our key partners. From this data, we generate insights to identify performance opportunities, build short and long term strategies and optimize initiatives, ultimately helping to bring these strategies and tactics to life across our network of over 14,000 US restaurants.
About the Opportunity:
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on the Strategy & Performance Management team, responsible for reporting integrated business and test performance to cross functional partners, including US Leadership, Field Insights/Finance, Marketing, Menu Strategy and Leadership Franchisees. Primarily, you will assist with the development of an “always-on” testing function, responsible for initiative test design, measurement, reporting and delivery of results to leadership and cross-functional partners. You will provide key insights to analyze the potential viability of initiatives under test, ultimately helping to find opportunities to improve business performance. In addition, you will help to build on the core performance management process, charged with communicating National and Market level performance on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis, ultimately driving actionable insights for our partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establishment of test design and methodology, identifying relevant test timelines, critical metrics, etc.
- Analyze restaurant level data to determine actual performance of test sites vs. control sites
- Framing and communicating results of test analysis to various stakeholders, including senior leadership and influential owner/operators
- Support evolution of performance management process, including refinement of existing reporting structure to focus on deeper insights
- Ad hoc analysis
Qualifications
- High level of intellectual curiosity
- Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills
- Ability to structure and quickly synthesize large volumes of data to develop actionable insights
- Ability to influence by presenting data clearly and compellingly
- Operates effectively in a team-based environment
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/ math/ statistics/analytics or a business related discipline
- At least 1-3 years of hands on work experience in technically rigorous field and experience analyzing data and statistics
- Experience with test design, A/B testing, and test measurement preferred
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required
- Experience working with Tableau and/or other data visualization software is a plus
