Chowbus is a fast growing, well-funded food startup headquartered here in Chicago on a mission to help diners to discover new and exquisite dishes, and to give traditional mom and pop restaurants a fighting chance to succeed without compromising who they truly are. By building a super app, our goal is to be the one stop shop for everything related to food.
Chowbus is looking for a Vice President of Finance to oversee all financial decision-making and strategic financial matters. You will be responsible for all aspects of financial accounting and reporting as a member of the senior leadership team to drive business strategy and profit growth. You will also lead the organizational design and structure for the Finance organization as it scales to meet the rapid growth at Chowbus.
What You'll Do:
- Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks
Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act to prevent problems
Manage cash flow and forecasting. Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and oversee the development of the quarterly and annual operating budget.
Set up and oversee the company’s finance IT system
Set targets for and supervise all accounting and finance personnel (management, accountants, internal auditors etc.)
Oversee all audit and internal control operations
Manage relationships with partners and investors
Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis
Conduct analysis to make forecasts and report to upper executives
- Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines
What You'll Need:
A sense of ownership and a willingness to get your hands dirty: you’ll be responsible for building new systems, reports, and processes from the ground up
Proven experience as a Director or VP of finance or similar role
In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
An analytical mind with a strategic ability
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
Experience in the online marketplace business or other relevant sectors is preferred
BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus
CPA or other relevant qualification is a plus
