Position Title: Global Process Controls Engineer
Position Type: Regular - Full-Time
Position Location: Oakbrook Terrace
Requisition ID: 27433
The Process Engineer, Controls & Automation will be responsible for implementing advanced process control (APC) and automation projects across McCain manufacturing facilities globally. Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Provide manufacturing site teams with tactical hands-on process engineering support to develop and implement controls strategies, in partnership with global and regional line control experts.
  • Configuration and process optimization of controls tools, such as model predictive control (MPC) controllers.
  • Support the development of comprehensive controls strategy as a process subject-matter expert.
  • Document and deploy line control best practices consistently across McCain sites globally to achieve standardization driving cost and quality improvements.
  • Use data and statistical analysis tools to identify process efficiency opportunities and achieve breakthrough performance.
  • Continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment reliability.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; Chemical or Food Engineering is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in technical role within Manufacturing, Engineering/Maintenance, or R&D functions.
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment working with process controls and automation; any experience with model predictive controls (MPC) is considered a plus.


SKILLS & CAPABILITIES

  • Strong technical aptitude, mechanical/electrical engineering, and/or plant automation, with the ability to drive manufacturing process optimization.
  • Knowledge of food processing equipment, processing methods, manufacturing philosophies, and basic manufacturing SOPs.
  • Have experience in process and packaging systems with understanding of line balances, process flows.
  • Manage and support project budgets, cost, schedules, scope, and quality
  • Able to interpret Process & Instrument specifications, basic knowledge around electrical design, network designs, and controls instrumentation.
  • Participate in focused improvement teams across regions to deliver immediate impact to cost reduction and support cost savings across the network.
  • Capable of collecting, organizing, and statistically analyzing data.
  • Ability to work independently and within teams on abstract projects with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communications skills, including creating and delivering presentations to senior stakeholders.


TRAVEL:
Ability to travel up to 50%, including international travel outside of North America.
